The story
In the quiet hamlet of San Pietro all'Olmo, just outside Milan, D'O stands as a destination for those seeking Italian contemporary cuisine at its most deliberate. Chef Davide Oldani has earned two Michelin stars for a kitchen that balances creativity with a sense of roots, expressed through what he calls "cucina pop" – a philosophy visible in every detail of the dining experience.
The restaurant offers four distinct tasting menus, each designed to highlight a different facet of Oldani’s cooking. The menu Esattezza presents the signature dishes that built D'O's reputation – a five-course selection of the house classics. Armonia is a seven-course journey of refined, balanced creations. For the fullest expression, Molteplicità unfolds over approximately ten courses, while Leggerezza turns the spotlight on vegetables and plant-based plates, reflecting the "green soul" of the kitchen. All menus are crafted freehand by the chef, and can be adapted for dietary needs.
Wine pairings are available for each menu, starting at €90 for Esattezza. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at lunch, guests can also choose three à la carte dishes for €115 – a more spontaneous way to experience Oldani’s precision.
D'O occupies a welcoming space in the historic piazza, with outdoor seating in warmer months. The atmosphere is polished but unhurried, and small dogs are welcome. It is a place where every gesture – from the layout of the menu to the care given to the guest – reflects a deep commitment to craft. Two Michelin stars are not simply awarded here; they are earned, plate by plate.
