The story
La Rosina began in 1917, when Rosina, a resourceful Venetian woman, opened her home to soldiers climbing the Altipiano during the Great War. What started as a warm meal for passing troops grew into a local trattoria, then, under the guidance of her grandson Gaetano in the 1980s, into a refined restaurant and hotel. Today, the Lunardon family – Gaetano, Nadia, and their children Riccardo, Eleonora, and Elisabetta – continue the legacy, connecting four generations of conviviality and good cooking.
The kitchen stays rooted in the Vicenza tradition. The menu features baccalà mantecato, bigoli al ragù d’oca, and a grill that burns openly in the dining room. Risotti change with the seasons: asparagus, mushrooms, pumpkin, and truffle appear when the local fields offer them. The approach is classic-contemporary, respecting the land’s culture without forgetting a few Italian classics. Much is made in-house, from pasta to gelato and pastries.
La Rosina sits in the green hills of Marostica, a landscape known for cycling and outdoor sport. The restaurant has long been noted by the Michelin Guide, earning a Bib Gourmand in 2023 for its excellent value, and now carries the Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026. This recognition reflects the consistency of the family’s work: a place where the soul of the old trattoria remains, but the look and service have evolved with care. The dining rooms are elegant, yet the welcome stays genuine – the kind of place where the table brings people together, just as it did in 1917.
