The story
Da Vittorio began in 1966 when Vittorio Cerea and his wife Bruna opened a restaurant in Bergamo’s city centre. At a time when meat dominated Italian menus, they chose to feature fish – a risk that quickly set them apart. The quality of their cooking earned a first Michelin star in 1978, a second in 1996, and in 2010 the third star that placed them among the world’s finest. Today, the Cerea family continues the tradition, with the founders’ children actively involved in the kitchen and dining room.
Da Vittorio now occupies a magnificent villa in Brusaporto, surrounded by the Cantalupa hills. The property includes elegant guest accommodations, making it a destination for those who wish to linger. As a member of Relais & Châteaux and Les Grandes Tables du Monde, the restaurant is recognized for both its cuisine and its hospitality. The dining room is elegant yet welcoming, with views of the surrounding greenery.
The cooking at Da Vittorio is Italian contemporary, rooted in classic Italian cuisine but executed with modern precision. Seafood remains a cornerstone, a tribute to the founders’ original vision. Every dish showcases the finest ingredients, sourced daily and prepared with the meticulous care that has defined the restaurant for over half a century. The menu changes with the seasons, always highlighting the best of Italian produce.
