The story
In Alzano Lombardo, just outside Bergamo, Titta Manzini and Silvia Valoti run RistoFante from a carefully restored 17th-century house in the historic centre. The couple began their journey into fine dining in 1992 in Ponteranica, on the first hills of the Val Brembana. Seven years later, feeling ready for the leap, they moved to the Val Seriana, buying and renovating the ancient building that still houses the restaurant today.
The name is the same, but the setting is entirely different: elegant rooms for winter service and a garden for summer dining. The atmosphere is warm and concrete, neither stiff nor casual.
Manzini’s cooking is grounded in the freshness of raw ingredients — vegetables and seafood, always seasonal. His guiding principle is to pass on tradition, lightening it and adapting it to the present. “The client should not feel like they are in a museum,” he says. The result is authentic Italian flavours proposed in a modern key, where seafood plays a leading role alongside the best produce of the region.
Silvia Valoti oversees the dining room and the wine cellar, ensuring the experience is as polished as the food. The restaurant is a member of the JRE (Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe) elite and has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction, a recognition that speaks to the consistency and clarity of their project.
RistoFante is Italian seafood with a sense of place and time — respectful of the past, but never stuck in it.
