The story
At Corbezzoli, the name itself sets the tone. The arbutus tree, or corbezzolo, has long been surrounded by legend—Ovid wrote of it in the Fasti, and in popular culture it is said to protect homes. For the team behind this Bologna restaurant, the plant is simply a symbol of hospitality. That is the spirit they set out to create: a place that is welcoming and built around the idea of encounter.
Chef Giuseppe Tarantino brings two distinct culinary traditions to the table. His Campanian roots, the land of his origin, meet the rich culinary heritage of Emilia-Romagna, the region that welcomed him. Rather than choosing between them, he reinterprets both in a contemporary key. Every dish is conceived as an experience, guided by respect for raw ingredients and the rhythm of the seasons. The result is Italian Contemporary cuisine that is both rooted and surprising.
Inspired by childhood memories and seasonal aromas, the dishes at Corbezzoli bring the Mediterranean to the table. Chef Tarantino shakes up the rules of tradition with bold, surprising flavours, enriching his recipes with colours and scents of sun and sea. The wine list, a carefully curated selection of 250 labels, focuses on originality and elegance—Italian sparklers, Champagne and Crémant, whites, rosés, and reds from Italy and beyond, all chosen to accompany the chef’s creations.
The restaurant is located within Relais Bellaria, with views over the garden, and is open to everyone. It also hosts private events, from weddings to corporate meetings, with customised proposals. Corbezzoli’s approach has earned it a place among Michelin’s recommended restaurants—a recognition that speaks to the consistency and care behind the experience.
