The story
Just outside Bra, in the historic heart of Cherasco, Osteria La Torre is a family-run restaurant that honors the deep traditions of Piedmontese cooking. The team describes their approach as a menu "a cavallo tra passato e contemporaneità" — a bridge between past and present — always centered on the quality of ingredients and processes. This commitment to honest, refined cooking has earned them a Michelin Bib Gourmand, a recognition for good quality, good value cuisine.
The kitchen, led by chef Marco Falco, makes pasta, bread, grissini, focaccia, and desserts in-house every day, using sourdough starter, organic eggs, and ancient-grain flours. The menu is a celebration of Piedmontese classics: vitello tonnato, battuta al coltello (hand-cut raw beef), tajarin, and ravioli del plin. In autumn, the prized white truffle of Alba takes center stage, paired with dishes like battuta di fassona, an egg en cocotte, or tajarin with 30 egg yolks. A cheese cart and a classic zabaglione with hazelnut cake round out the experience.
The restaurant aims to recreate the genuine welcome of old-style trattorias. Guests can enjoy meals in an air-conditioned space or on an outdoor terrace. The wine list explores Italian and French landscapes, with a particular focus on Piedmontese labels. Paolo and the staff are on hand to recommend the perfect bottle to accompany each course, adding a layer of local expertise to every meal.
