The story
Perched on the green hills at the gateway to Franciacorta, Miramonti l’Altro in Concesio, just outside Brescia, has long been a reference point for Italian Contemporary cuisine. Its story is a family affair, rooted in the 1960s when Mary Piscini earned a Michelin star at the original Miramonti in Caino. Today, that same commitment to quality and innovation lives on at this hillside restaurant, which holds a Michelin star of its own.
The restaurant was founded by Mary alongside her son Mauro Piscini, who envisioned a kitchen that bridges the Brescia valleys with the culinary traditions beyond the Alps. Mauro’s vision led to a second star (now held as a one-star since the 2026 guide) and a team that defines the place: his sister Daniela Piscini, named Maître of the Year by L'Espresso in 2021, runs the dining room with precision and warmth; and chef Philippe Léveillé brings a unique perspective.
Philippe Léveillé, French by birth and Italian by choice, arrived in the 1990s after training in Paris, New York, and Monte Carlo. At Miramonti l’Altro, he found a land he describes as “concrete and rich,” capable of dialoguing with his French training. His cooking is one of synthesis and freedom—technique and creativity, memory and openness. He interprets the territory without nostalgia, crafting Italian Contemporary dishes that reflect both his roots and the local bounty. Some of Mary’s original recipes remain among the most requested, a link to the restaurant’s beginnings.
The result is a dining experience that balances elegance with familial warmth. Guests choose from tasting menus—“Elogio della tradizione” and “Sapori e colori”—designed to guide them through flavours that are both authentic and surprising. The wine list and cellar are equally considered, and the restaurant’s setting, surrounded by greenery, makes for a serene backdrop.
Miramonti l’Altro extends beyond the daily service. Stefano Piscini, the new generation, oversees events from weddings to business dinners, tailoring each occasion with the same care. The restaurant also offers gift certificates, allowing guests to share this experience.
Whether you come for a special celebration or simply to discover a kitchen where tradition meets contemporary art, Miramonti l’Altro delivers a meal that feels both personal and refined—a place where every detail, from the cooking to the welcome, is attended to with thoughtfulness.
