The story
Zamù was born from the fusion of two historic Canicattì institutions—Zaliclò and Moulin Rouge. Behind the restaurant lie thirty years of experience in the trade, distilled into a single, fresh concept. The team describes it as “an equilibrated mix where tradition and experience merge with gastronomic art.” This is a kitchen that smells of the past but dresses itself in the art and innovation of the present.
The carte oscillates between the flavours of the sea, the pasture, and the garden. The menu is built on three principles: quality, taste, and excellence. Among the antipasti, the Tiépido di Mare (warm seafood medley) and the Polpo al BBQ with salsa Luciana showcase the restaurant’s confident handling of the day’s catch. Primi like the Fusilloni artigianali with broccoli, Sicilian black pork sausage, and smoked provola dei Nebrodi speak to the island’s produce. The extensive tasting boards—featuring international cheeses, Sicilian cheeses, and cured meats—offer a glimpse into the kitchen’s dedication to selection and provenance.
Zamù’s blend of deep-rooted tradition and contemporary technique has earned it a Michelin Recommended award, a nod to the consistent quality and creativity on the plate. The setting is welcoming, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the team also runs a catering service for those who want to bring the experience elsewhere. Whether you come for the business lunch (three courses from Monday to Friday) or for a full evening degustation, every dish is meant to tell a story—one you can taste.
