The story
In the heart of Casale Monferrato, inside the 18th-century Palazzo Gozzani Treville, Accademia Ristorante has been drawing diners since 2015. The setting is elegant but open to everyone — a place where “alta cucina a prezzi accessibili” is not a slogan but a daily reality. The restaurant’s Michelin Recommended status reflects a kitchen that respects the region’s country cooking while adding a light, creative touch.
Chef Luca Filia leads a young brigade, crafting dishes that follow the seasons. The à la carte menu and the tasting option “La Memoria Piemontese” (€55) offer a direct route into Piedmontese tradition: vitello tonnato cooked slowly, handmade gran plin with salted Normandy butter, braised veal cheek with Robuchon-style purée, and the classic Bonet for dessert. Each plate is precise, honest, and rooted in the land.
At the front of the house, Nicola Mecca brings years of hospitality experience and a deep passion for Champagne — he imports small grower-producers himself. The wine list is a careful selection of Monferrato’s best labels alongside bottles from across Italy, and Champagne pairings are a signature offering. The restaurant even hosts masterclasses with visiting producers, like the recent Domain B. Girardin event.
The space itself is intimate yet grand: 40 seats in the gourmet dining room, while the palazzo’s frescoed halls can host up to 200 guests for private events. Whether you come for a weekday lunch or a special evening, Accademia Ristorante delivers a taste of country cooking that feels both timeless and refreshingly current.
