The story
In the heart of Cava de' Tirreni, just steps from the Santuario di San Francesco, Casa Rispoli has been a family affair since 2011. The Rispoli brothers – Alessandro, Vincenzo and Marco – run the dining room and cellar with warmth and ease, while the kitchen is led by chefs Federico Trapanese and Orazio Montuori. Their cooking is modern, rooted in the Campania region but never predictable.
The interior is calm and contemporary: cream and beige tones, exposed wooden beams, and a lounge-like feel. One dining room faces an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work; the other, the sala bar, is softer, lit by the glow of a wine and Champagne display. From May to October, the action moves outdoors to a dehors on Piazza San Francesco, one of the town’s prettiest squares.
The menu changes every three months, balancing land and sea. A la carte options range from a “Terra Mia” starter of raw prawns, stracciatella and lemon to a tagliolino with fonduta, pepper and raw prawns. Two tasting menus offer a curated path: “Estate” (summer) and “Un giro a mare” (a tour of the sea), both showcasing the kitchen’s precision and respect for ingredients. Desserts like a tiramisù 2.0 or apricot caprese with basil cheesecake round things out.
Casa Rispoli’s consistent quality earned it a spot in the Michelin Guide Italia 2026, alongside recognition from Le Guide de L’Espresso and Gambero Rosso. It’s the kind of place where the welcome is genuine, the cooking is confident, and the setting lets you relax into the evening.
