The story
Terrazza Bartolini sits on the first floor, between the pier and the sandy beach of Milano Marittima. The restaurant calls itself a “Trattoria di Mare” – informal yet elegant, with a seafood cuisine that is straightforward but deep in flavour. Everything starts from the sea, and the kitchen works with daily catches to keep the menu fresh and responsive.
The setting is open to the elements but well sheltered, offering views of umbrellas in summer and the lively winter sea. The interior carries personal touches: petrol-blue paint, the colour fishermen use to repaint their boats each season, and raw iron lamps inspired by traditional fish traps. These details come from chef Andrea Bartolini’s childhood memories, grounding the space in local maritime tradition.
Terrazza Bartolini earned a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026, a nod to its honest, flavour-driven approach. The menu is concise – a simple carta with daily additions – and guests can also opt for tasting menus or the popular “Menù al Buio”, a five-course blind selection prepared by the chefs, available for a minimum of two people. Only four tables per evening are reserved for this experience, which is served in the inner dining room with an open kitchen.
Whether you come for a relaxed dinner or the surprise of the blind menu, the focus remains on the sea – its aromas, its ingredients, and the direct, unpretentious cooking that lets them speak.
