The story
The name says it all. Konnubio means union—of flavors, textures, art, attention to detail, and the pursuit of taste. In the heart of Florence, just steps from the historic center, this restaurant and wine bar brings together multiple experiences under one roof: a bright bar for breakfast, an intimate courtyard for summer cocktails, and a dining room where modern Italian cuisine takes center stage.
At the helm of the kitchen is Chef Michele Mancini, supported by a dedicated team that includes Annamaria Esposito, Bless Amada, Giuseppe Bagnato, Loïc Cavazzana, and Nicola Calza. Mancini’s cooking is rooted in the Italian tradition but looks forward—concrete and creative, without excess. The menu changes with the seasons, drawing on high-quality ingredients to reinterpret classics from both land and sea.
Starters like soft white polenta with liver ragout and cooked wine foam sit alongside a ciabatta layered with lampredotto, artichokes, and green sauce. First courses range from Etruscan pici with a marinated egg yolk to ravioli with a double filling of sausage and Mantuan pumpkin. Main courses include a three-pepper peposo stew, spicy octopus with mashed potatoes, and a Florentine T-bone steak from heifer selection. Two tasting menus—Twist of Tradition and The Sea—offer a curated journey through the kitchen’s philosophy, each priced at €75.
The wine list is overseen by Simone Loguercio, named Best Sommelier of Italy in 2018 by the Italian Sommelier Association. With around 600 labels, the selection is never predictable. The cocktail bar, open from 19:00, offers a broad range of spirits and drinks. Whether for a working lunch, a celebration, or a quiet dinner, Konnubio adapts to the occasion without losing its character.
Konnubio holds a Michelin Recommended distinction, a reflection of its consistent quality and the skill of its team. The atmosphere is refined yet welcoming—a space that feels both elegant and lived-in. Guests describe it as a “living room of taste,” where the service is warm and the setting invites lingering. The restaurant also hosts contemporary art exhibitions under the name “Gusto Visivo,” curated by Loredana Barillaro, adding another layer to the experience.
Breakfast is served daily from 7:30 to 10:30, with a buffet that includes freshly baked bread, eggs, local cheeses and cured meats, and a variety of pastries. Dinner runs from 19:00 to 24:00, with the kitchen open until 22:00 on weekdays and 22:15 on weekends. Lunch service is temporarily suspended.
