The story
Perched in the hills of Gabicce Monte, Ristorante Posillipo offers a panoramic view that stretches across the Riviera. Here, the Arduini family has been tending their craft for three generations, passing down a culinary tradition rooted in the sea. Today, brothers Mario and Gianmarco Arduini lead the kitchen and the cellar, respectively.
Chef Mario Arduini interprets each dish by blending the old and the new, creating flavours that speak of the sea and the land. The restaurant’s classic cuisine focuses on seafood, with an emphasis on raw and lightly cooked preparations. Dishes such as the gran piatto di crudità di mare, Sicilian red tuna tartare with burrata and sesame crunch, or the roasted octopus with potato, puntarelle, and peanuts showcase the kitchen’s precision. The pasta section is particularly strong: paccheri with a spicy scorpionfish ragù, spaghetti with sea urchin, and the house signature “Tagliolini Meraviglia” with a white ragù of crustaceans and molluscs.
The dining room is elegant and exclusive, with a natural beauty that leaves guests breathless. Service is professional yet warm. The Michelin Recommended award – recognised for 2026 – reflects the consistent quality and the seamless marriage of setting, service, and cuisine.
Sommelier Gianmarco Arduini curates a vast selection of prestigious Italian and international wines. The list is designed to pair with the seafood-centric menu, offering both classic labels and lesser-known gems. A tasting menu is available, allowing guests to experience the full range of Chef Mario’s cooking in one sitting, from the amuse-bouche to the dessert trolley.
The restaurant also offers a lunch business menu from Tuesday to Friday, and a seasonal carta della stagione that changes with the market. The commitment to sourcing – from the fisherman to the farmer – is evident in every plate. Posillipo is a place where the sea is the witness, and the view is part of the meal.
