The story
Inside the historic Cantine Nervi in Gattinara, Cucine Nervi brings together contemporary design and Piedmontese tradition. The restaurant is a Michelin-recommended destination for modern cuisine, where the open kitchen places chef Matteo Piana and his team at the centre of the action.
The space is defined by dark tones, minimal elegance and materials that echo the winery: glass, steel, wood and Luserna stone. A standout feature is the 14-metre chef’s table, a single piece of Kauri wood from New Zealand, radiocarbon-dated to over 48,000 years old. Guests can choose to sit at this immersive table facing the kitchen, or opt for a more private classic table.
The menu is creative and modern, rooted in Piedmontese tradition but open to bolder interpretations, including seafood and surprising pairings. The wine list naturally highlights Nervi labels alongside a prestigious selection of national and international bottles, chosen to complement the meal.
Cucine Nervi is open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, and for Sunday lunch only. It is easily reachable from Biella, Vercelli, Novara, and the lakes of Maggiore and Orta. The restaurant also offers a refined setting for business lunches and corporate events, with private parking adjacent to the building.
