The story
In the heart of the Laguna di Lesina, on the northern edge of the Gargano, Le Antiche Sere is a family affair. Chef Nazario Biscotti and his son Gabriele lead the kitchen, drawing on deep roots in Apulian tradition. Gabriele, trained at hotel schools in Vieste and Termoli, champions local ingredients: mullet (especially the bottarga they produce themselves), eel, pasta, and Peranzana olive oil. Brother Primiano serves as sommelier, curating a cellar strong on regional wines, while Valentina Gonzalez Alibardi brings precision to the secondi station.
The setting mirrors the food—calm, connected to the water. The menu is a clear expression of this Apulian seafood cuisine, where tradition meets restrained innovation. Standout dishes include spaghetti with house-made mullet bottarga, eel soup, and grilled eel with salicornia. Other plates like the razor clam and prawn tartare, or the tagliatella of cuttlefish with pea purée and chia seeds, show a light, modern touch. Bread is made in-house from selected durum wheat.
Le Antiche Sere holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, a nod to its consistent quality and good value. The dining room is relaxed, with outdoor seating for warmer months. Guests praise the creativity rooted in tradition, the generous wine list, and the warm, knowledgeable service. It’s a place where the lagoon’s bounty—from oysters to eels—is treated with respect and skill.
