The story
Osteria da Cippi is a small restaurant tucked into Borgo Valdestali, a hamlet of Frisanco just minutes from Maniago, at the foot of the beautiful Prealpi Carniche. The setting is intimate, the pace unhurried — a place where the mountains meet the table.
In the kitchen, Nazzarena Del Fabbro works with local ingredients that speak of the region: Pitina (a traditional cured meat), polenta, local cheeses, deer, and boar. She cooks the typical recipes of Friuli, all homemade, using organic flour, milk, and eggs. Every dish is a direct expression of the territory.
Giovanni Padovan, sommelier and co-owner, brings the same philosophy to the wine list. He searches for the best local wines, with a special eye for organic and biodynamic producers. The result is a pairing that deepens the connection between food and place.
Osteria da Cippi holds a Michelin Recommended distinction, a recognition of its honest, well-executed Italian cuisine. The restaurant serves a tasting menu for all guests — by reservation only, at least two days in advance. It’s a deliberate, personal approach that rewards those who plan ahead.
