The story
Just outside Mestre, in the small locality of Peseggia di Scorzè, I Savi occupies a welcoming space in the open countryside. This is not a place for theatrical dining. Instead, it cultivates its clientele with refined, locally-rooted dishes and a constant, rigorous creative evolution – a quality that earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026.
The restaurant has been run since 2009 by Giancarlo Tosatto and Francesco Benetton. Giancarlo manages the front of house, presenting dishes and wines with genuine competence and attention to each guest’s needs. Francesco, the chef, brings experience from kitchens in Cortina and Milan. He works exclusively with local traditions: bread, pasta, and desserts are all made in-house, and seafood is his clear strength.
The menu reflects the Venetian lagoon and the Adriatic. Standouts include fish cooked on the spit, sophisticated crudités, and the Trionfo di crostacei alla catalana – a generous platter of crustaceans. The Risotto di gò, made with goby fish, is a deeply flavorful tribute to local cooking. Every ingredient is carefully sourced, and the wine list is equally considered.
The atmosphere is warm and immediately sympathetic. The dining room is comfortable, with outdoor seating available. I Savi also hosts private events, business lunches, and themed evenings featuring products from local farms. It is a restaurant that knows its place – and its guests – and serves them with quiet pride.
For anyone seeking authentic Venetian seafood in a setting that feels both refined and relaxed, I Savi delivers with consistency and grace.
