The story
Aimo e Nadia BistRo opened in April 2018, the result of a meeting between two Milanese institutions: Il Luogo Aimo e Nadia, a benchmark of Italian cuisine for over fifty years, and Rossana Orlandi, one of the most influential gallerists in avant-garde design. The restaurant brings together the personalities of Stefania Moroni, Alessandro Negrini, Fabio Pisani, and Rossana Orlandi to create a space that fuses interior design with the pleasures of food and conviviality. The recognition from the Michelin guide, which recommends the restaurant, reflects the quality of this synthesis.
The interior is an extension of Rossana Orlandi’s adjacent gallery. Vintage pieces sit alongside contemporary works by both established and emerging designers, all selected by Orlandi. Exclusive Etro Home prints – wallpapers, fabrics, and upholstery – give each room a distinct character. The main dining room features a visible kitchen, with déco-inspired chairs by Nika Zupanc, a purple metacrilato chandelier by Jacopo Foggini, and a brass sculpture by McCollin Bryan. The bar counter is decorated with Jaime Hayon seating and an ironic window installation by Anotherview. A private dining room uses recycled chairs by Piet Hein Eek. The atmosphere is intimate and lively, designed to make guests feel at ease.
Chef Sabrina Macrì leads the kitchen, blending the classics of Aimo e Nadia with her own creations. The menu respects the style of high-quality Italian cooking, often using few ingredients to let the produce speak. The same care extends to the aperitivo, a convivial moment before dinner. The restaurant also offers dedicated menus for private events, catering to everything from business occasions to family celebrations.
