The story
At Anima, the fine dining restaurant within the Milano Verticale complex, resident chef Michele Cobuzzi brings a philosophy shaped by his upbringing in the Foggia countryside. Surrounded by olive groves and vegetable gardens, he developed a profound respect for raw ingredients. “For me, every ingredient is unique and must be treated with respect and dedication,” he says. This care translates into dishes that aim to communicate a sincere message, arriving directly at the heart of the guest.
Cobuzzi’s cooking bridges the traditions of Milan and his native Puglia. He sees tradition not as a limitation but as a foundation – “that’s where everything starts, it’s our roots.” His contemporary cuisine, which earned the restaurant a Michelin star for high-quality cooking, places versatility and seasonality at its core. The menu evolves with the seasons, drawing inspiration from the land and its genuine fruits.
Anima is one of three dining concepts within Milano Verticale, a striking architectural project that plays with verticality, contemporary materials, and meticulous detailing. The space includes a private garden of one thousand square meters – an oasis steps from Corso Como and the financial district. The restaurant’s interior mirrors the building’s eclectic, contemporary spirit, with a focus on craftsmanship and refined finishes.
The team in the dining room is led by Riccardo Gambino, who emphasizes empathy as his secret ingredient, alongside sommelier Cristina Pinciroli, whose passion for wine drives curiosity, and restaurant manager Matteo Lanzillo, who believes hospitality begins before the guest even sits down. Together, they create an atmosphere that is both warm and precise, complementing the kitchen’s thoughtful, contemporary approach.
