The story
On a quiet street in Milan’s lively Navigli district, Belé stands apart. It is a restaurant that deliberately chose a tourist-heavy area, knowing that to earn loyalty here means cooking with conviction. And so Chef Giulia Ferrara does — with a style that honours Italian tradition without being bound by it.
Giulia Ferrara, chef and owner, came to the project after years alongside some of Milan’s most respected names. At Belé, which opened in 2018, she built a kitchen driven by respect for raw ingredients, an insistence on seasonality, and an open curiosity toward producers both local and international. The result is Italian Contemporary cuisine that feels both rooted and restless: old recipes rethought, forgotten tastes brought back with care.
Dionigi De Scisciolo, maitre and sommelier, guides the front of house with a wine list that matches the kitchen’s ambition — pairing suggestions are available by the glass, tailored to each course.
Inside, the dining room is minimal and warm, with soft lighting and a relaxed palette. A bar near the entrance invites a cocktail or a glass of wine before sitting down. In warmer months, the intimate dehors offers outdoor seating, sheltered from the bustle of the canals.
Belé’s commitment to this balance — tradition as a foundation, not a cage — earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction. It is a place where the meal unfolds at its own pace, and where the staff, from chef to sommelier, share a genuine belief that conviviality and quality belong together.
