The story
Bites is a small, 17-seat restaurant on Via Lambro in Milan that defines itself by breaking conventions. Its name comes from the Italian word for “bites” – morsi – and the menu is built around a progression of small courses, each a concentrated burst of flavor and contrast. The idea is to trust the kitchen and let yourself be carried, bite after bite, through a meal that challenges the palate to play, experiment, explore, remember, and imagine.
The cuisine is International in the truest sense: ingredient combinations that cross borders without rules or limits. Nothing is pre-packaged or predictable. The restaurant describes its own philosophy as “fuori dagli schemi” – outside the box – and everything from the menu to the drink list follows that spirit.
Bites’ beverage offering is as dynamic as its food. The wine list, sake selection, and non-alcoholic drinks rotate constantly. The ethos is the same as for the food: no boundaries. Whether you are exploring natural wines or a rare sake, the selection is designed to surprise and complement the small plates.
At Bites, the people make the difference. The small team brings the philosophy to life in the kitchen and at the counter, where guests can watch the action up close. The restaurant is open for lunch from Thursday to Saturday and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, with private events available by request.
Bites has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction, reflecting the quality and originality of what emerges from this tiny Milan kitchen. It is a place for diners who want to eat with curiosity, without expecting the familiar.
