The story
In the heart of the Langhe, overlooking the Monviso, Il Giardino "Da Felicin" has been a beacon of hospitality for four generations. The story begins in 1923, when Felicin and his wife Dina took over a restaurant for travelers. Their philosophy was simple: the art of making customers happy. That spirit, passed down through the family, remains the foundation of the restaurant today.
The current guardians, Nino and Silvia, continue the tradition. Nino, like his father Giorgio before him, brings a refined touch to the kitchen, deeply rooted in the local terroir. The cuisine is profoundly linked to tradition, with a sharp focus on the genuineness of ingredients, chosen with care and curiosity. This is classic Piedmontese cuisine, prepared with a family's intimate knowledge of the land.
Guests are welcomed in the warm, curated rooms of the historic home or, weather permitting, on the panoramic terrace. The restaurant is part of a "diffuse hotel" that includes the historic building, Villa Stella, and the Palazzo Boeri Panoramic Suites, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the quiet life of Monforte d'Alba.
The restaurant's dedication to quality and authenticity has earned it a Michelin recommendation, a fitting recognition for a place that has been a cornerstone of the community for a century. The cellar, a treasure trove built over decades of passion and conviviality, offers a vast selection of local vintages and labels, perfectly complementing the kitchen's work. Whether for a rich breakfast before a day of exploring or a dinner on the terrace at sunset, Il Giardino "Da Felicin" offers a genuine taste of the Langhe.
