The story
On the sunny Via Fegina in Monterosso al Mare, Ristorante Miky has been a fixture since 1980, when Michele and Simonetta set out to share the genuine, traditional flavours of the Cinque Terre. Today, the family’s passion continues through their daughter Sara and her husband Boris, who works alongside Miky in the kitchen. The restaurant’s commitment to quality and freshness has long been recognized by major guides, including a place in the Michelin Guide Italia 2024.
The kitchen’s philosophy is grounded in the pursuit of the best possible ingredients. Miky prioritizes local produce, often from the fishermen and farmers of the immediate area, respecting the seasons and the traditions of the Ligurian coast. This dedication to the territory is the foundation of their Ligurian and seafood cuisine. Boris brings a spirit of innovation to the kitchen, preparing all pasta by hand, from spaghetti alla chitarra to filled pastas. A standout dish, the Acciugata alla monterossina, is a first course that encapsulates this approach: homemade spaghetti with fresh Monterosso anchovies, capers, Taggiasca olives, and pine nuts, all covered with a thin bread pastry to trap the aromas.
In the dining room, Simonetta and Sara make guests feel at home, while the wine list—featuring about 250 labels—pays special attention to the heroic local producers of the Cinque Terre. Simonetta believes it is important to offer guests a wine from the territory, to help them understand the story and love behind each bottle. The result is a restaurant where the warmth of a family-run business meets the precision of a Michelin-recommended kitchen, making it a destination for anyone seeking authentic Ligurian seafood in Monterosso al Mare.
