For more than sixty years, Derby Grill has welcomed guests in a setting framed by the timeless beauty of the Villa Reale in Monza. The restaurant balances an international atmosphere with a deep family passion and a cuisine that is Mediterranean, contemporary, and honest. It is a place where the past and present meet on the plate.

The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Fabio Silva, a Neapolitan who arrived at Derby Grill as a teenager and became Executive Chef in 2011. His cooking draws from the traditions of Lombardy and the flavours of his native Campania, reinterpreted with creativity and respect for the seasons. As Chef Silva puts it, “I cook because I love Lombard flavours, and when I go home it is the sea of Campania that welcomes me, and it’s the wide horizon of the world that suggests new ingredients and techniques.” This philosophy shines through every dish.

The cuisine is best explored through two tasting menus. “The territory… in my view” is Chef Silva’s creative take on Lombardy, featuring dishes such as risotto with hay, trout and pink pepper, and arctic char baked in clay. “The journey, back to my origins” dives into his Mediterranean heritage with plates like pasta e patate with provola and menaica anchovies, and ravioli filled with oxtail ragù. Each menu is priced at €110 for six courses. A selection of classics — including an ossobuco with saffron risotto and a carefully prepared Milanese veal cutlet — is also available à la carte.

The wine list is extensive, with over 400 labels from Italy and abroad, curated to pair with the refined yet approachable dishes.

In the dining room, Maître Antonio Renzulli and his team bring the same warmth and precision that have defined Derby Grill for decades. The restaurant’s recognition by the Michelin Guide, as well as by guides such as Espresso, Gambero Rosso, and Euro-Toques, reflects the harmony between place, people, and cuisine.
