The story
On Via Lecco in Monza, Ristorante Silvestro is the realization of a family dream. The Silvestro family, led by chef Giuseppe Silvestro, opened this restaurant with a clear purpose: to offer guests an experience that feels like a dive into the past while looking toward the future. The kitchen is built on sustainable practices, using quality seasonal ingredients and rewriting traditional recipes in a modern key. "There is no evolution without tradition," they say, and that philosophy runs through every plate.
The cuisine is Mediterranean "made in Italy" with influences from chef Giuseppe's travels from north to south, plus a touch of French contamination. This is modern Italian cuisine that respects the land and the seasons. The Michelin guide has recognized Silvestro as Recommended, a nod to the restaurant's commitment to quality and authenticity.
Silvestro offers several ways to explore the chef's vision. The "A mano libera" tasting menu (90€) is a six-course journey that immerses diners in the chef's philosophy, with an optional wine pairing (65€). For a shorter experience, the "Primavera" menu (60€) presents four courses inspired by the chef's memories: asparagus and morels, ravioli alla genovese, seasonal fish, and chocolates. A vegetarian version of Primavera is also available, featuring gnudi with borage and hazelnuts, grilled artichokes, and strawberries with mascarpone and rhubarb.
From the à la carte selection, starters include asparagus and morels (26€), lupini beans and razor clams with Annurca apple (24€), and Verduno sausage with pineapple and lettuce (18€). First courses range from risotto with prawns and fennel (27€) to spaghetti with fava beans and wild garlic (22€). Main courses highlight duck "in all its parts" (36€), seasonal fish (34€), and grilled artichokes with mint and fennel (27€). Desserts include sbrisolona, strawberries with mascarpone and rhubarb, and a selection of cheeses (15€).
For a lighter lunch, the business lunch changes according to ingredient arrivals: two courses for 20€, including water and cover charge. The service includes homemade bread and focaccia.
Silvestro is open for lunch and dinner, with a focus on quality over quantity. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, with air conditioning, outdoor seating, and private-party options. It's a place where the Silvestro family's dream is served daily, plate by plate.
