The story
In the historic heart of Naples, on Via Giovanni Paladino, La Locanda Gesù Vecchio operates two welcoming venues that share a single culinary philosophy. Since opening in 2019, the locanda has become a reference point for those seeking honest, flavour-driven Campanian cuisine. The restaurant’s commitment to quality and value has been recognised with a Michelin Bib Gourmand award for 2026, an accolade reserved for restaurants that offer good food at reasonable prices.
The project is led by Vittorio Fortunato, a knowledgeable wine connoisseur with deep roots in Neapolitan gastronomy. He is joined by a skilled culinary team including chefs Rita Cantalino, Shean Saparamadu and Vincenzo Esposito, who together craft a menu rooted in the region’s culinary heritage. The kitchen honours tradition with a modern touch, working with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Expect sfizie artigianali (artisan snacks), Neapolitan pizza, stuffed pasta and homemade desserts – each dish a tribute to the flavours of Campania.
The wine list is another strength, curated in collaboration with Enoteca Scagliola, a historic wine shop that has been a reference in Naples since 1940. It features a world-class selection ranging from prestigious Campanian labels to outstanding Italian and international bottles, chosen to complement the food.
Both locations on Via Giovanni Paladino (civico 26 and civico 4) reflect the charm of the past while offering a refined, comfortable atmosphere. Whether dining indoors or on the outdoor terrace, guests experience the warm hospitality that defines Neapolitan culture. The menu is available at lunch and dinner, with dinner served in two sittings. For those with dietary needs, a gluten-free menu is also offered. La Locanda Gesù Vecchio is a place where the authentic soul of Campanian cuisine meets careful, consistent execution.
