The story
Tucked along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Veritas describes itself as "our window on the city, a point of observation and dialogue" for ideas about food, wine, and conviviality. The name itself is a declaration of intent: authenticity, independence, and freedom of thought. It is a small restaurant by design, a conscious choice to offer the most personal experience possible.
Since March 2024, the kitchen has been led by Chef Marco Caputi, a young talent who previously earned a Michelin star at Maeba Restaurant in Ariano Irpino. Caputi is the author of a contemporary cuisine that is free and without fixed schemes, with a distinctive style defined by purity and essentiality of flavor and presentation. Under his direction, Veritas has become a laboratory of flavors and a forge of new ideas, remaining true to its core spirit of quality, authenticity, and ethical sourcing.
The menu at Veritas is not built on rigid templates. Instead, it is constructed around taste itself: acidity, bitterness, umami, sweetness, fat, and starch. Each dish has a precise direction, with no forced balance—only rhythm, intensity, and freedom. The restaurant describes its cooking as concrete, intense, and real, made with a good hand. The wine list is equally passionate, focusing on small producers, artisans, and vignerons who, like the kitchen, work things by hand. This commitment to a bold, independent, and contemporary expression of Campanian cuisine earned Veritas its first Michelin star in 2026, a fitting recognition for a restaurant that prizes originality and character above all.
