The story
Perched inside a splendid historic palazzo that looks out over the Gulf of Noli, Ristorante Vescovado has held a Michelin star since 2009. The dining room, with its 15th-century frescoed ceilings, moves in summer to the building’s enchanting panoramic terraces – a setting where the scent of aromatic herbs mingles with the sea breeze and views stretch from Levante to Ponente.
At the helm is Chef Giuse Ricchebuono, who has shaped Ligurian fine dining for over three decades. He works alongside the talented Chef Gabriele Bazzano. Their philosophy is simple: raw ingredients, rigorously local and exclusively seasonal, selected with meticulous care and treated with profound respect. The result is a cuisine that captures the essence of Liguria – both land and sea – without unnecessary flourishes. The dishes that emerge from the kitchen are those that have marked the region’s restaurant history, refined over years of practice.
The restaurant occupies a wing of the Hotel Vescovado, a dépendance that once hosted monsignors and nobles. Today it offers a refined yet warm welcome, with impeccable service and a wine list rich in prestigious labels from Liguria, across Europe, and beyond. The experience is further enhanced by the Orto del Vescovado, a green terrace opened in 2022 where guests can enjoy gourmet focaccia and tapas inspired by local tradition, prepared with vegetables grown on site. Whether for a formal dinner or a relaxed aperitivo, Vescovado remains a destination that combines elegance with the genuine flavours of the Ligurian coast.
