The story
In the medieval village of Cremolino, on the hills of Alto Monferrato, Mirepuà Food Lab brings a contemporary vision to Piedmontese cuisine. The restaurant is led by chef Federico Ferrari, who began cooking in Cremolino at fourteen. After opening his first restaurant in Acqui Terme in 2017, he returned to his roots in 2022, moving Mirepuà to this hilltop setting. He is joined by partner Gaia Fassone, who runs the dining room with warmth and a sharp sense of hospitality.
Ferrari’s cooking is defined by local ingredients and a meticulous approach. Dishes start with produce from the restaurant’s own garden and carefully selected suppliers, stretching from the vineyards of Ovada to the Ligurian Sea. The menu includes Piedmontese classics reimagined, such as the Agnolotto Quadro Monferrino and a traditional fritto misto alla Piemontese. The wine list focuses on the region’s best labels.
Mirepuà Food Lab has been listed among the Recommended restaurants by the Michelin Guide, an acknowledgment of its consistent quality and distinct, territory-driven cooking. The dining experience here is authentic and convivial—a direct reflection of the land and the people behind it.
