The story
In the historic Kalsa quarter of Palermo, L’Ottava Nota brings together two Mediterranean worlds. Chef Vladimiro Farina, who carries the warmth of Andalusia and the soul of his native Sicily, creates a cuisine that balances memory and creativity. The restaurant describes itself as “a sensory journey, a symphony of flavours that links Sicily to Spain.”
The dining room is refined, with contemporary design and soft lighting. A new outdoor space—a dehors in the heart of the Kalsa—offers a quiet, intimate atmosphere for al fresco dining. It is a place for private dinners, special evenings, or simply an immersive meal.
L’Ottava Nota offers two degustation paths. The Sette Note (€110) is a seven-course journey through land and sea, while the Sette Note Verdi is a vegetarian counterpart with the same depth. Wine pairings are available with 4 or 7 glasses. The à la carte menu changes with the seasons, featuring dishes such as Ceviche with lime and coriander, Uovo all’occhio di bue with Sicilian egg and truffle, and Spaghetto all’ostrica with Gilardeau oysters. Meat and fish courses include Controfiletto alle Nocciole (beef with hazelnut cream) and Baccalà a sfincione, a creative take on a Palermitan classic.
The restaurant’s recognition by the Michelin guide—Recommended in 2026—reflects a kitchen driven by technique, instinct, and respect for ingredients. Every dish, from the Risotto giallo zafferano to the Cassatelle e gelato alla cannella, is rooted in Sicilian cuisine yet open to unexpected harmonies.
L’Ottava Nota is a place where tradition meets innovation, and where a meal becomes an experience worth remembering.
