The story
La Martinatica occupies an ancient olive mill from the 1800s, its original stone walls and the wheel that once drove the millstone still visible in the dining rooms. The building has been transformed into a refined, welcoming space where every detail is considered. Guests can choose between an elegant outdoor dehor surrounded by greenery and flowers, or the two intimate indoor salons that preserve the industrial heritage of the space.
Chef Francesco D’Agostino leads a kitchen defined by expert technique and a deep respect for quality ingredients. His cooking is inspired by a constant search for harmony between tradition and innovation, resulting in dishes that are both creative and grounded in the simple, pleasurable flavours of Italian cuisine. The menu changes with the seasons and offers both à la carte and tasting options. The restaurant’s philosophy is captured in its motto: “We always cook thinking of someone… otherwise you’re just making food.”
The relaxed atmosphere at La Martinatica is deliberate. The team prioritises warm hospitality, careful service, and attention to detail, aiming to make every guest feel at ease. This combination of setting, cuisine, and service earned the restaurant a Michelin Recommended distinction, a recognition of its consistent quality and the memorable experience it provides in the heart of Pietrasanta, Tuscany.
