The story
Osteria 1126 is the restaurant of Fattoria di Cinciano, a lovingly restored borgo in the heart of Chianti Classico. The kitchen describes its cooking as “cucina tipica contemporanea” – traditional Tuscan cuisine with a modern sensibility. The Michelin guide has taken note, awarding the restaurant a Recommended status for 2026.
The estate’s philosophy centres on Sangiovese, its signature grape, and the same care extends to the kitchen. Dishes draw on ingredients from the farm and the surrounding Casentino and Grosseto areas. The menu changes with the seasons, but highlights include a battuta al coltello di Chianina with marinated egg and caper mayonnaise, and Carnaroli risotto mantecato with Cinciano’s own extra virgin olive oil. A tasting menu, “Degusta Cinciano”, offers a four-course journey through the kitchen’s best, with a vegetarian version available on request.
The restaurant’s wine list is anchored by Cinciano’s own production. From the Preziano Bianco – a rare white Sangiovese – to the structured Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, each bottle reflects the estate’s dedication to its terroir. The pairing is seamless: a glass of Chianti Classico Riserva alongside roasted Grosseto lamb, or the Vin Santo with cantucci to finish.
Osteria 1126 is a place where the Tuscan countryside meets thoughtful cooking, and where every meal is a direct expression of the land.
