The story
Le Grenier has been a cornerstone of Saint-Vincent’s gastronomic landscape for more than three decades. Housed in an ancient granary, the restaurant combines the rustic character of the Aosta Valley – exposed wood mezzanines, intimate alcoves, and a copper fireplace – with elegant, carefully chosen furnishings. The result is a dining room that feels both welcoming and refined, a setting that has earned the restaurant a Michelin Recommended distinction.
Since 2005, brothers Bruno and Stefano Mazzotti have been at the helm of the kitchen. Their approach starts with the selection of raw materials, emphasising seasonality, and extends to in-house pastry and bread making. The Mazzottis describe their style as a modern cuisine that grows from deep knowledge of tradition. They stay within the orbit of Valle d’Aosta’s culinary heritage, but move freely to explore new combinations. The menu changes periodically to guarantee the freshest ingredients, offering both land and sea dishes rooted in the local territory.
Le Grenier’s philosophy is one of thoughtful innovation. The chefs aim to “make the palate dream” rather than astonish with whimsy. Their Italian cuisine is built on high-quality raw materials, with constant research into cooking techniques and ingredients. Classic local recipes are reinterpreted in a gourmet key, while international influences appear in dishes that range from traditional antipasti to creative desserts. A separate truffle menu highlights seasonal Alba white truffle, and the wine list showcases the restaurant’s cellar. Whether for a quiet dinner or a private event, Le Grenier offers a gastronomic experience that respects the past while looking forward.
