The story
In the historic centre of Salò, Felter alle Rose occupies an 18th-century inn, its original character preserved yet refreshed with contemporary elegance. The result is a warm, family-like atmosphere where guests feel at home.
Chef Matteo Felter, after gaining experience in notable kitchens across Italy and abroad, opened this osteria with his sister Ottavia. Their aim: to revive the flavours and atmosphere of old Brescian trattorias, reimagined for today. In the dining room, maitre Andrea Garbin – whose path led from journalism to a passion for wine – selects unconventional labels for the cantina.
The kitchen celebrates local ingredients from small producers, combining solid tradition with modern technique. The menu changes with the seasons, always reflecting the deep history of the region. As the restaurant puts it, they start from the past to define the present.
A cherished ritual is the dessert cart: Chef Matteo brings to each table a selection of sweets, cakes, cheeses, and local leavened goods that evoke memories. Beyond the dining room, the osteria also opens its counter for an aperitivo, a glass of wine, or a snack of salumi – a space for true conviviality.
Felter alle Rose sits steps from the "Fossa" and the lakeside promenade, in the very centre of town. The restaurant provides convenient parking.
The Michelin inspectors have recognised this approach, awarding the osteria a Recommended distinction for 2026, a nod to its honest, seasonal Italian cooking and welcoming spirit.
