The story
In the historic centre of Gardone Riviera, friends Enrico and Marcello turned a shared passion for food into reality. In 2010, they opened Osteria Antico Brolo inside an 18th-century house, creating a restaurant that feels both rooted in tradition and refreshingly current.
The pair met in professional kitchens, and after years of experience elsewhere, they built a place of their own. The result is an osteria that balances quality ingredients with original dishes, served in a warm, informal setting. Their philosophy is clear: good food should be accessible, and the price should reflect that. The cuisine is best described as country cooking enriched by modern technique — a style that earned the restaurant a Michelin Recommended distinction.
The menu changes with the seasons, drawing on Lake Garda’s rich larder. While the owners do not list specific dishes on their site, the emphasis is on “piatti originali con ingredienti di qualità” — original plates made with quality ingredients. The atmosphere is deliberately relaxed, a place where guests can linger without pretension.
In 2016, the duo renovated the floor above the osteria, adding four comfortable rooms. This makes Antico Brolo a small locanda where you can eat, sleep, and wake up to the lake’s gentle rhythm. The restaurant operates with summer hours (May to September) for lunch and dinner, and shorter winter hours (October to April), closing entirely from November 1st to February 10th.
For those seeking an authentic taste of Lake Garda, Osteria Antico Brolo delivers — a genuine, modestly elegant spot where modern cuisine meets the warmth of Italian country cooking.
