The story
In the elegant heart of Savona, on Piazza Pertini, a young couple is making their mark. Quintogusto is the shared vision of chef Mirko Lacota and his wife Alina, who together bring years of experience in high-level Italian and international dining to their own intimate restaurant. Mirko, who previously worked alongside Michelin-starred chef Giuse Ricchebuono at Il Vescovado in Noli, now crafts a personal cuisine that is both audacious and grounded. His food is intense, fresh, lively, and – above all – delicious.
The restaurant’s contemporary Mediterranean cuisine is built on daily market availability, with a menu that changes with the seasons. Antipasti like ceviche or a Fassona tartare with avocado and seed crisp lead into primi such as spaghetti di mare, saffron and prawn risotto, or anchovy-stuffed ravioli with hazelnut cream. Secondi might include a delicate ombrina with asparagus, or a guinea fowl with its own jus and chard. For those seeking a deeper experience, chef Lacota offers two tasting paths – of five or seven courses – that include dishes not found on the à la carte menu.
Alina, seasoned by significant roles in Savona’s finest restaurants, welcomes guests with a blend of grace and professionalism. The atmosphere in the dining room mirrors the couple’s partnership: warm, attentive, and polished. Quintogusto has already earned a place in the Michelin Guide as a Recommended restaurant, a recognition that underscores the precision and creativity at work here.
This is a restaurant built on genuine partnership and a shared desire to surprise and satisfy. Whether through the recall of childhood flavours or the discovery of bold new combinations, Quintogusto offers a clear, confident take on modern Mediterranean cuisine in the centre of Savona.
