The story
In the heart of the Veneto, on the square of Quero in Setteville, Locanda Solagna has been a fixture since 1956. The restaurant’s philosophy is rooted in a strong connection to the land: “the value of specificities and a strong bond with the territories,” as the team describes it. Here, the kitchen celebrates what grows with the rhythms of nature, expressed in dishes that change with the seasons.
The menu is a thoughtful balance of Italian contemporary and country cooking. Ingredients come from micro-local productions and Slow Food presidia, treated with a mastery of tradition and a pleasure in reinterpretation. A tasting menu offers four courses chosen from the à la carte, allowing guests to explore the kitchen’s range. Standouts from the current menu include the Paccheri with venison ragù, apple and cardamom, and the 32-yolk Tagliolino with black kale cream and aged Fiore Sardo DOP. The “Griglia” section features grilled cuts like the “Oro Veneto” beef ribeye and the Polish “Red Krowa” beef. A well-curated wine list—featuring local Belluno labels alongside classic Franciacorta and Champagne—complements the food.
The dining rooms are complemented by a few simple rooms upstairs, overlooking the piazza or the garden, ideal for those exploring the nearby UNESCO heritage of the Prosecco Hills and the Belluno Dolomites. The restaurant describes itself as “a small spa for the soul and palate,” an apt description for this refined yet welcoming stop.
Recognised by the Michelin Guide, Locanda Solagna offers a genuine taste of the Veneto, where the pleasure of good food is the starting point for discovery.
