Modì: A Contemporary Sicilian Table in Torregrotta

In the small town of Torregrotta, fifteen kilometres from Milazzo, between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Peloritani mountains, Modì brings a contemporary sensibility to Sicilian cooking. The restaurant opened in October 2011, the dream of chef Giuseppe Geraci and sommelier Alessandra Quattrocchi, who chose Giuseppe’s hometown as the place to tell the story of their land.

The dining room is refined, with warm tones that create an intimate atmosphere. In summer, guests move to a splendid panoramic terrace with uninterrupted views of the Aeolian Islands – a backdrop that inspires the kitchen. Torregrotta itself is a small town of seven thousand inhabitants, smelling of sea and industriousness, and the islands appear on the horizon as constant companions.

For Geraci and Quattrocchi, cooking is a way of life. It means patience, waiting for the right moment, and respecting the memory of tradition while looking at the old with new eyes. Their cuisine is vivacious, unafraid of provocative notes, designed to surprise and accompany diners on a journey of discovery.

The wine list is equally personal. Quattrocchi sees it as a liquid perspective of their research – wine as energy that connects people and territories. Each pairing is an invitation to explore the stories of the land and the people who cultivate it.

Modì’s approach has earned it a place in the Michelin Guide for 2026, a recognition of its refined yet welcoming experience. The restaurant also hosts special evenings, such as themed dinners like "La Cena dei Monsù" and aperitivo collaborations with Champagne houses, adding further layers to its expression of Sicilian hospitality.

Through its cuisine, wine, and setting, Modì offers a genuine taste of contemporary Sicily, rooted in its place and open to the world.
