The story
Casa Sgarra is built on a simple premise: three brothers, three paths, one home. Felice, Riccardo, and Roberto Sgarra each travelled the world—working in top hotels, restaurants, and vineyards from Chicago to Tokyo, from Cortina to Singapore—before returning to their native Trani. Their shared ambition: to create a restaurant that honours the traditions and culture of Puglia while expressing everything they learned abroad.
The result is a refined expression of modern cuisine, served in a setting that feels both personal and polished. The dining room looks out over the Lungomare Colombo, and the kitchen is led by Chef Felice Sgarra, whose career includes stints at Hotel Cristallo in Cortina and La Credenza in San Maurizio Canavese, as well as appearances at Identità Golose and the West Bund Food Festival in Shanghai.
Felice Sgarra has held a Michelin star since 2013—a recognition that continues today with the 2026 star—and his cooking balances technical precision with a deep respect for local ingredients. Riccardo Sgarra, once the youngest sommelier in Italy, curates an interesting wine list that reflects his experience at estates like Paolo Scavino and hotels around the globe. Roberto Sgarra brings a background in luxury hospitality, having worked at Il Pellicano and Terme Manzi, ensuring the front-of-house runs with quiet confidence.
Together, they have built a place where the food tells the story of their family and their land. Dishes evolve with the seasons, drawing on the bounty of the Adriatic and the surrounding countryside. The atmosphere is warm and unpretentious—a restaurant for locals and travellers alike, where the conversation flows as easily as the wine.
Casa Sgarra’s modern cuisine is never abstract. It is grounded in the flavours of Puglia: olive oil, seafood, vegetables, and grains, reinterpreted through the brothers’ collective experience. The kitchen avoids unnecessary flourishes, letting the ingredients speak. Whether you come for lunch or dinner, the menu reflects a philosophy of clarity and balance.
The restaurant also offers outdoor seating in good weather, and the team can accommodate private parties. For those who want to take a piece of Casa Sgarra home, there is a shop and catering service. But the real draw is the dining room itself—where three brothers, after years apart, have found their way back to the same table.
