The story
In December 2016, the Bandi brothers opened Osteria il Moro in Trapani’s historic center with a clear vision: to offer a food and wine experience rooted in the traditions of the city, yet distinct enough to stand out. The result is a restaurant that has earned a Michelin Recommended award for its thoughtful, modern cuisine.
The driving force in the kitchen is the chef, who began dreaming of his own restaurant as a child. His two most important teachers were his grandmother and his mother, from whom he inherited a treasured couscous recipe and the ritual of its preparation. Today, he interprets traditional Trapani recipes using innovative cooking techniques, combining the best local ingredients with excellences from beyond the region. His dishes are simple by design, yet presented in a creative and refined manner.
The kitchen’s identity starts with a deep connection to the land of Sicily. Ingredients are selected with care, sourced from Slow Food Presidia and excellent local producers. The menu is an expression of “modern tradition” — it tells the story of the territory, looks to the present, remembers the past, and never stops innovating.
The Bandi brothers place great importance on service. The team, experienced from working with the Majestic hotel chain, is attentive to every detail. The goal is not just good food, but a deep sensory experience — one that guests will want to repeat with friends and family.
Osteria il Moro is located in the historic center of Trapani, offering outdoor seating and a wine list worth exploring. It is open for lunch and dinner, and welcomes private parties.
