The story
Since 1968, Trattoria alla Pergola has been a family affair. Every detail here—from the stonework to the plate—speaks of dedication and a passion for hospitality. The restaurant’s philosophy balances refinement with a warm, familiar welcome, treating guests as friends rather than customers.
The kitchen focuses on Venetian cuisine, rooted in tradition and good flavours. The winter 2025 menu showcases both classic and inventive dishes: a beef tartare with golden apple and alkekengi mayonnaise, a rabbit “tiramisù” with coffee brioche and cocoa powder, or a veal liver terrine with black truffle and almond flakes on salted butter toast. For primi, the pasta section includes Roman classics like carbonara and cacio e pepe alongside Venetian-inspired options such as potato gnocchi with guinea fowl ragù and cardoncelli mushrooms, or pappardelle with wild boar ragù. Secondi range from wood-fired grills—Lamb scottadito, Irish ribeye, Argentine Angus—to stuffed pigeon and wild boar stew with porcini mushrooms and chestnuts.
The wine list is extensive, with over 700 labels from every Italian region, and the restaurant hosts periodic tastings. The dining room is open for lunch and dinner year-round, with an outdoor seating area for warmer months.
Trattoria alla Pergola’s consistent quality and emphasis on genuine Venetian cuisine earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction, a recognition that aligns with the restaurant’s longtime commitment to honest, flavourful cooking in a welcoming setting.
