The story
Lara and Francesco opened the first MARdiVINO in 2001, a restaurant that quickly became a trusted destination for fresh fish dishes with a distinct Apulian character. In 2019, they moved to a new home: an antique farmhouse from the late 1800s, carefully restored to preserve its original rustic style. The result is a setting that feels both simple and authentic – a deliberate choice to match the warmth of the welcome.
Chef Francesco Colaianni is the heart of the kitchen. Described as an expert in cooking techniques and a deep connoisseur of product selection, he is committed to sourcing the best raw materials the market offers. His cooking philosophy is clear: “The sun, the sea, the simplicity in cooking, and the genuineness of ingredients are our strength and pride.” This approach shines through in every plate, where Mediterranean seafood takes centre stage, prepared with respect for tradition and a touch of southern Italian soul.
The restaurant’s consistent quality and honest flavours have earned it a Michelin Recommended recognition – a nod to the reliable, memorable dining experience that MARdiVINO delivers year after year. Whether you choose to sit indoors in the cosy, air-conditioned dining room or outside on warmer evenings, the atmosphere remains welcoming and unpretentious.
While the menu changes with the seasons, the focus never wavers: fresh seafood, Mediterranean simplicity, and the unmistakable influence of Puglia, the region that inspires Francesco’s culinary roots. It is a place where a meal feels like a genuine encounter with the Italian coast, even when you are just outside Treviso.
