The story

Piano35 Turin: Michelin-Starred Dining High Above the City in the Intesa Sanpaolo Skyscraper

Piano35: Turin’s Sky-High Dining Experience

Perched on the 35th floor of the Intesa Sanpaolo skyscraper, Piano35 offers a perspective on Turin that few places can match. At 167 metres above the city, the restaurant and its adjoining bioclimatic greenhouse create a space suspended between earth and sky. The name itself—Piano35—is a direct reference to this altitude, a location that the team describes as “a unique place, suspended between the earth and the sky of Turin.”

The restaurant is the vision of chef Marco Sacco, already holder of two Michelin stars at his other restaurants, and his son Simone Sacco. Together, they set out to reinterpret Turin’s culinary tradition through three words: buono, bello e semplice—good, beautiful, and simple. The day-to-day execution falls to resident chef Christian Balzo, whose authentic talent was forged in Piedmont. Under his direction, the kitchen earned a Michelin star in November 2020, just eight months after opening. The guide recognised “high-quality cooking” that honours the region’s roots while looking forward.

Three Souls, One Address

Piano35 is built around three distinct experiences. The gastronomic restaurant serves dinner in the evening, while a bistro-style lunch break offers a lighter take on the kitchen’s Italian Contemporary and Piedmontese cuisine. The Lounge Bar, shaped by Simone Sacco, reimagines the classic Turin aperitif in a sophisticated, contemporary setting. And Spazio35 on the 36th floor—the “in-between floor”—hosts private events, weddings, and corporate gatherings. Each space shares the same philosophy: seasonal ingredients, Piedmontese identity, and a sense of lightness.

The team is led by Denis Zanghirella, who oversees the front of house with the same care that earned the star. The restaurant’s own words capture the spirit: “From day one we have given it our all, and were shown by you, dear friends, that we were on the right path. But a star is a star. It’s a consecration, it’s trust, it’s joy.”

An Experience Above the Ordinary

Dining at Piano35 is not just about the food—it is about the setting. The bioclimatic greenhouse, the panoramic views over Turin, and the careful balance of tradition and modernity make every meal feel like a pause from the everyday. Whether you come for a lunchtime break, an evening tasting menu, or a cocktail at sunset, the restaurant’s three words—good, beautiful, simple—guide every detail.
