The story
For fifteen years, Scannabue Caffè Restaurant has been a fixture of Turin’s San Salvario quarter, born from the desire to create a place that is both refined and accessible. The team, led by owners Gianluigi Desana and Paolo Fantini alongside executive chef Roberto Solina, describes their work as a passion for visiting mills and discovering small mountain dairies. This direct relationship with producers is the foundation of everything they do.
The kitchen is anchored by two pillars: exclusively Piedmontese beef and fish from the Ligurian Sea. Over the years, the team has also developed a growing enthusiasm for vegetables and herbs, often making them the protagonists of dishes. Their approach to country cooking is not about strict tradition but about reworking ideas, often taking inspiration from a “starred” kitchen and simplifying them to let the flavours of the territory speak.
This commitment to good quality, good value cooking has earned Scannabue a Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026. The menu is a space for original creations and experimentation, always guided by the careful selection of raw ingredients. The result is a welcoming spot where the care of the kitchen and the warmth of the service meet – a true neighbourhood restaurant that has become a destination.
