The story
Lineadombra sits at Punta della Dogana, in one of the most authentic areas of Venice. Its over-water terrace extends above the Venetian lagoon, offering an unobstructed view of the Giudecca Canal and the Palladian churches of Redentore and San Giorgio. The only sound is the sea. Dining here is a romantic and exclusive experience, and the staff welcomes guests with warmth and competence.
The kitchen draws from the Rialto market, where the air of ancient spice merchants still lingers. Fish comes from the lagoon and nearby seas; vegetables from the gardens of Sant’Erasmo. The seasons dictate the menu, and the cooking is an encounter between traditional Venetian dishes and new techniques, blending into curious combinations. This thoughtful modern Venetian cuisine has earned Lineadombra a Recommended rating from the Michelin guide, a recognition of its consistent quality.
Inside, the modern design is comfortable and cosy, with wood, glass and vividly colourful details. Oriental and ethnic notes create a unique atmosphere across three intimate dining rooms that seat up to sixty. The wine list is a particular strength: more than 1000 labels, selected since 2004, with depth ranging from young easy-drinking wines to older vertical vintages. It has been recognised by The Wine Spectator.
Currently, the restaurant also presents Erbaluce, an exhibition of works by Noemi Priolo that explores matter, light and time—visible within the dining rooms and above.
