The story
At Ristorante Amistà, dining is an encounter with creativity that draws from the surrounding landscape and the vibrant art collection of the Byblos Art Hotel Villa Amistà. Located in the heart of the Valpolicella hills near Verona, this Michelin one-star restaurant is guided by Executive Chef Donato De Leonardis. The historic 5-star luxury villa provides a dreamlike setting where antique and contemporary elements coexist, inspired by the art that fills every corner.
Chef De Leonardis crafts a contemporary Italian cuisine that weaves together the gastronomic traditions of Veneto and Basilicata. His menus are born from an encounter between biodiversity, seasonality, and carefully selected local ingredients, evolving into dishes defined by balance, elegance, and identity.
Amistà offers three distinct culinary journeys, including one entirely vegan option. The “Between Stone and Vine” menu (€160) explores the territory, featuring dishes like Carnaroli rice with snails, wild garlic, and Monte Veronese cheese, followed by duck in crepinette with wild berries. The “Beyond Boundaries” menu (€180) expands the palate with creations such as lobster tortello with strawberry, basil, and caviar, and Monte Baldo lamb with spring onion and parsnip. The “Terrae” menu (€130) celebrates vegetables, herbs, and flowers, with plates like artichoke with black garlic and hazelnuts, and fusillone with rye, pepper, and arugula. Each course can also be ordered à la carte.
The wine list, overseen by Pietro Recchia, offers thoughtful pairings that complement the chef’s vision, with options starting at €60 per person. The restaurant’s recognition with a Michelin star reflects its commitment to high-quality cooking and a dining experience that feels both rooted in tradition and refreshingly contemporary.
