The story
Locanda '800 opened its doors in Negrar in 2007, born from the collaboration of two local forces: Gianfranco Elampini, owner of the agricultural estate Vigna 800, and chef Diego Donatelli. Their shared vision created a restaurant that honours the land while looking forward. Today, Chef Donatelli also runs the kitchen, bringing his experience to every plate.
The menu is grounded in classic Veronese cuisine, but Chef Donatelli gives it a contemporary lift. He reinterprets traditional recipes – both meat and fish – in a modern key, balancing the region’s hearty flavours with lighter, fresher touches. The seafood offerings are a particular point of pride, adding a coastal dimension to the inland Valpolicella setting.
The restaurant’s commitment to quality has earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026, a nod to the precise, thoughtful cooking that defines Locanda '800. Guests can enjoy their meal in a relaxed atmosphere, with outdoor seating available during warmer months and ample parking – a rare convenience in the Veronese hills.
Whether you come for a lunch of classic pasta or a dinner of carefully sourced fish, the kitchen’s steady hand and respect for tradition make every visit feel both familiar and exciting.
