The story
At Villa Naj, set within the historic Tenuta Riccagioia estate in Torrazza Coste, the landscape of rolling vineyards and hills sets the stage for a refined dining experience. The restaurant, which earned its first Michelin star in the 2026 guide, is driven by Chef Dario Fisichella. After years working alongside Felice Lo Basso, Fisichella now leads the brigade, bringing his own vision to the kitchen—one that honours the exceptional raw materials of Oltrepò with an innovative touch.
The dining room blends modern interiors with panoramic views of the surrounding agricultural estate, creating a setting that feels both elegant and grounded. The cuisine is best described as Italian contemporary, with a strong sense of place and seasonality.
Fisichella’s cooking is expressed through three degustation paths, each designed to showcase the rhythm of the seasons. The vegetarian “Sfumature Erbacee” offers five courses built around vegetables and herbs. The six-course “Il Calore della Natura” moves from raw and grilled seafood to a bold horse main with pepper and wild garlic. For those seeking a deeper journey, the nine-course “Viaggio” explores the breadth of the chef’s repertoire. A la carte options are also available, from starters like “Crudo, cotto e grigliato” with shellfish and caviar to mains such as turbot with saffron and smoked anchovy.
The wine cellar is a dedicated affair: 500 labels, starting with local Oltrepò bottlings and reaching across international selections, chosen to complement the modern cuisine. The restaurant’s modern Italian approach is evident in every dish, balancing technique with the clarity of the territory.
Villa Naj is a place where the past and future of Oltrepò’s gastronomy meet—quietly confident, and anchored in quality.
