The story
On the third floor of The PuXuan Hotel, overlooking Wangfujing Street, Fu Chun Ju delivers Cantonese cuisine that is both deeply traditional and thoughtfully contemporary. The restaurant earned a Michelin star for its precise, ingredient-driven cooking under Chef Waikit Yeung.
Yeung’s menu is an exploration of authentic Cantonese flavours, adapted with respect for the produce of Beijing’s surrounding region. The kitchen balances homage with invention, presenting Chinese cuisine at its finest without straying from the foundations that define it.
The dining room itself is a modern interpretation of a Beijing hutong home. Clean lines, amber glass, delicate timber and stone come together in a palette drawn from the capital’s historic hues. The space offers a range of settings – open and private – that feel spacious without being intrusive. Four private dining rooms can accommodate up to sixty guests, making the restaurant suited to both intimate meals and larger celebrations.
Fu Chun Ju’s Michelin star reflects a kitchen that understands restraint: the cooking lets quality ingredients speak, while the contemporary touches are never merely decorative. It is Cantonese cuisine that respects its roots while feeling entirely of the moment.
