The story
In the Nishitemma district of Osaka, DuKKAh offers a direct link to the kitchens of northwestern Spain. This is the only restaurant in Japan officially recognized by Amigos da Cociña Galega, the gastronomic association of Galicia, and certified by ICEX Spain Trade and Investment. Its dedication to the region’s cooking has earned it a place in the Michelin Guide every year since 2019.
DuKKAh’s Spanish cuisine is built around tasting courses. The Menú Degustación (¥13,500) presents a progression of dishes, with sample menus available on the reservation site. For lighter appetites, the Menú medio (¥13,000) keeps the same number of courses but reduces each portion to half or three-quarters. Lunch brings a shorter Menú almuelzo (¥3,500) or a full Menú Degustación (¥12,500) identical to the dinner offering.
A standout is the Menú Txuletón (¥30,000): a charcoal-grilled beef course featuring a 500g steak (about 1kg with bone and fat), preceded by pinchos and tapas, followed by fideuà (a pasta-based paella) and dessert. The beef can be shared among three or more guests, with an additional charge per person for the accompanying dishes.
On occasional evenings, DuKKAh opens for walk-in bar use, announced on Instagram. These are not full meals but lighter bites, prepared from the same ingredients used for the courses. Regular guests may sometimes be able to reserve a seat. The space features counter dining, suited for both intimate dinners and private parties.
